Description:
AVAILABLE - September 2026
The Night Pearl STRIX 50 MAX-R is the long-range end of the STRIX line: a 50 mm F/0.9 objective, 2.5× native optical magnification, and detection out to 2,843 yards. It is built for open country — cut fields, pasture, river bottoms viewed from a rise — where the animal is far enough away that a wider device just shows you a warm smudge. Effective magnification runs 2.5×–20×, and the built-in laser rangefinder returns distance to 1,094 yards. The 640×512 px, 12 µm VOx sensor with ≤15 mK NETD resolves fine temperature differences at range, where detail collapses first: leg position, body outline, the difference between a sow and a boar at 400 yards. Shutterless calibration keeps the image live, 60 Hz keeps moving game smooth, and the 23.8 oz body is rated IP67 and shock-resistant to 1,000 G.
WHERE DETAIL DIES FIRST — 50 MM F/0.9
Distance doesn’t just make things smaller — it makes them colder. Atmosphere absorbs thermal energy on the way to your sensor, so a hog at 600 yards arrives as a far weaker signal than the same hog at 100. Two things decide whether that signal survives: how much of it the lens collects, and how fine a difference the sensor can resolve. The STRIX 50 MAX-R has both. A 50 mm objective at F/0.9 gathers substantially more thermal energy than the smaller, slower glass on a typical handheld, and the ≤ 15 mK core resolves temperature differences roughly twice as fine as a standard 25–35 mK sensor. Together that is the margin between a warm blob at 600 yards and an animal you can identify, size and count.
BUILT TO RUN IN GLOVES
Three controls, and that is the whole interface: power button, rotary knob, photo/confirm button. Every one of them is sized to be found and worked with gloves on — no fingernail-sized buttons, no press-and-hold combinations to remember, no menu diving. You can tell them apart by feel in the dark, which is the only test that matters at 3 a.m. in November. Switch it on, turn the knob, take the shot. Your eyes stay on the field instead of on the device.
0.49″ OLED — THE SCREEN YOU ACTUALLY LOOK AT
Every spec on the sensor side ends up on one small screen, and that screen decides what you really see. This one is a 0.49-inch OLED running Full HD — 1920 × 1080. OLED means each pixel makes its own light, so black is genuinely black instead of grey haze, and the contrast between a warm animal and cool ground snaps out instead of washing together. At this pixel density the image fills your eye without visible structure, and the field in front of you stops feeling like a picture on a screen. You stop looking at a display and start looking at the country.
2.5× TO 20×. ONE DEVICE.
Native 2.5× optics mean the magnification starts where most handhelds top out — and unlike digital zoom, optical magnification costs you nothing in resolution. From there, 1×–8× digital takes you to an effective 20× for the close look. Pair it with the 1,094-yard rangefinder and you can find an animal, size it, and range it without picking up a second piece of glass.
WIDE FOR ITS MAGNIFICATION — 46 FT AT 100 YARDS
Field of view and magnification pull against each other: the more a device magnifies, the less ground it shows. At 2.5× native the STRIX 50 MAX-R still holds 46 feet at 100 yards, which is a lot of country for an optic built to reach 2,843 yards. You can sweep a pasture at working magnification and still have the reach in reserve when something turns up at the far end.
SHUTTERLESS. NO CLICK, NO BLACKOUT.
Most thermals recalibrate by closing an internal shutter — the image freezes for a moment and the device makes an audible click. It always happens at the wrong time: the animal steps out, the shutter fires, and you lose both the picture and the element of surprise. The STRIX 50 MAX-R calibrates without a mechanical shutter. No click, no frozen frame, no blackout while game is moving. It also means one less moving part to fail in cold, wet or dusty conditions.
STRIX 50 MAX-R — Maximum Reach. Highest Precision.
The Night Pearl STRIX 50 MAX-R is engineered for hunters working open ground and long distances. A 50 mm F/0.9 objective, 2.5× native optics to 20× effective, and 2,843 yards of detection — with a laser rangefinder built in.

Built by Hunters. For Hunters.
We didn’t build Night Pearl in a boardroom. We built it in the field — because we’ve been hunters our whole lives and we know exactly what you need out there. Every season, we listen. Every season, we improve. That’s our promise to this community.
